The Public Relations and Communications Committee is sponsoring a monthly book selection program for staff. The committee will be responsible for soliciting book nominations and choosing recommended books. The book selections will be publicized online, at the full Forum meetings and in InTouch.
The book selections will take up topics that are relevant to staff, such as leadership, self-improvement, labor issues, and professional development. The committee is also looking for recommendations for books written by UNC faculty authors or that are on topics of general interest, such as North Carolina and UNC history. Suggestions for books that cover thematic topics that coincide with honorary months (i.e., Black History Month, Native American Heritage Month, etc.) are also appreciated.
The monthly book selection is a pilot program that the committee is open to expanding into a book club if there is interest from staff. Please contact Katie Turner at katie_turner@unc.edu if you would like to become involved in organizing in-person book discussions or if you would like to suggest a title for consideration.
UNC staff are encouraged to purchase the books at Bulls Head Book Shop. The titles will be offered at 25% off the cover price.

March: Love 2.0 (UNC Faculty Author Barbara Frederickson)
